To change or not to change

A moment to pause and to reflect in how the changes we all have to pass through in our lives, by creating new interactions with others and the consciousness. Within us we hold all of our past experiences and when the next wave of change lays its hand upon our hearts, we react and the next step on our medicine wheel of our heart is taken… Read more

The only thing guaranteed in life is change. Every day, minute, hour and second that passes us by, we will have changed in one way or another. What causes us to change without knowing, is it our emotional content? As human beings, we are living our entire life through our emotions and the emotions of others. However we may not be aware of the emotional state of the Heaven and Earth, which is the space we exist with in.

The most important thing to be aware of is that all living beings, creatures and the entire planet have their own intelligence as do our hearts. We walk our medicine wheel of life trying to bring order to an unseen energy called chaos.

The ancient wise people knew that in order to be able to walk through change and to bring harmony to our own chaos and order, we must accept that we must pass through each stage of this duality. It is how we walk through this highly charged emotional state of heart, is what matters.

From them studying nature, observing how plant and animal life grew to exist and harmonised with its surroundings. For example, by studying the behaviour of animals, they observed their early morning and evening routines. It appeared to them as a natural occurrence of all animals cleaning themselves, stretching, feeding and just becoming still to welcome in the day ahead.

This is how Qigong, Yoga, Tai Chi and meditation was born. This of course is debatable because, history teaches us variations of there true origins, such as, who were these early humans being who studied life in such a way, they were able to unfold the natural way. From what continent and country, did these teachings originate from. Regardless of this debate, I have my own understanding of this my, which my ancestors shared this mystery with me. I am grateful that we have all been handed down this precious knowledge to help us understand that there is a way to deal with all of life’s challenges by following the way.

From the practice of Qigong, we cleanse not only our bodies, but our energy at the same time. We become refreshed and rejuvenated, which provides us with a healthy state of mind and body. If you do practice Qigong, you may have noticed how our joints make amazing sounds, such as a crack here and a crunch there. Providing it not a serious problem, it will normally be because of overnight stiffness and the fluid in the joint’s becoming sticky. The more you practice the less this becomes. When I practice I always align my mind with nature and when my own body makes these noises, I always say to myself, it must be coming from a tree creaking or a bird spreading its wings.

One good hour of Qigong followed by some Tai Chi forms should always become our routine. So now we have stretched and now is the time to ground this energy and become centred by connecting to our Mother Earth. The sinking of our energy by the mobilisation of our waist (Tan Tien) is to turn our minds and free our heart from its confinement. There is nothing more powerful than to dance like an animal or move and yield like a tree in the wind. One step at a time, gently do I place my feet on the skin on our Mother Earth, knowing that Father sky is looking down upon me. From these actions, harmony within my heart is born and I become one with all of nature, just as all of life does.

After, it is a time to meditate, to centralise my energy and to pay gratitude and thanks to my ancestors, Mother Earth, FatherSky, Grandfather Sun and Grandmother Moon. Finally it is for me to sit quietly with my heart and immerse myself in the heart of the creator. Only there will I be able to understand the truth of my life and the world without taking a single step. This is to move within and become silent and still on the outside.

I learn to embrace my change, never feeling I deserve better than what I am given by the creator, for all is the work I must do to ensure that I am truly following the way.
